Bíblia do Whisky 2016: os vencedores

A cada ano são esperados os grandes vencedores na Bíblia do Whisky de Jim Murray. No ano passado, Jim escolheu o Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 como Whisky do Ano. Teve um efeito surpreendente sobre a demanda por esta garrafa e impulsionou fortunas para todas as categorias do whisky japonês da noite para o dia.

O vencedor deste ano, pela primeira vez, é do Canadá: Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye. Jim atribuiu 97.5pts/100 e comentou: "o centeio, o mais eloquente dos grãos, não apenas transformou-se para encantar e fascinar, mas também para nos levar através de uma jornada que atinge um novo patamar de beleza e complexidade. Dizer que esta é uma obra-prima é apenas fazer justiça."

Notas de Degustação:

Nariz: especiarias, cereais e carvalho.

Paladar: suave nota de carvalho, caramelo rico, baunilha temperada, desenvolvendo notas macias e apimentadas.

Final: suave e cremoso.

Jim aumentou o número de whiskies premiados para cinco, em oposição ao que vinha sendo feito, a escolha normal de três, acompanhado por sua escolha de Single Cask do ano. Aqui estão os vencedores:
